Important Update: Changes to Treatment Room Fees

Dear Patients,

From 5th January, we will be introducing a Treatment Room Fee for all patients who use the treatment room in addition to a consultation fee.
This change applies to everyone, including pensioners who were previously bulk billed.

Why is this happening?

Due to Medicare regulations, we are unable to bulk bill when charging for consumable items used during treatment. These consumables include dressings, medical supplies, and other materials necessary for your care.
Unfortunately, this means there will now be an out-of-pocket cost for all patients (for both the consultation and the consumables) using the treatment room

What does this mean for you?

  • If you require treatment involving consumables, you will be charged a Treatment Room Fee in addition to your consultation.

  • This fee is not covered by Medicare, so it cannot be bulk billed.

We understand your concerns

We believe this change is necessary to continue providing high-quality care and cover the rising costs of medical supplies.
If you disagree with this policy, we encourage you to contact your local Member of Parliament to express your concerns about Medicare’s limitations.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
